The lower Laguna Madre is the place to go in the United States to target trophy speckled trout. Along with the trophy potential it is a great place to get in great action fishing for both speckled trout and redfish. Besides your typical bay fishing, we offer unique fishing trips that others in this region do not offer. We can target Trophy Redfish at the Jetties along with a good mix bag of fish. The port of Brownsville is very unique – this is where trophy snook live. They are our target species there but large meat hauls of mangrove snapper, and speckled trout are the norm as well. Bay fishing will take place out of Port Mansfield. Lodging can sometimes be arranged.

This trip can be for both wade and drift fishing. Typically wade fish for big trout or redfish and drift fishing for those that want to just catch a bunch of fish and have a good meat haul of trout if you desire.

I am one of the few guides who runs trips out of the Port of Brownsville and also runs Garmin Live scopes. Livescope is a game changer in deeper water. Brownsville is a deep shipping channel, which is perfect for the technology. The port of Brownsville is a unique fishery. Snook are very rare on the rest of the Texas coast but in Brownsville they are prevalent. Here is the place to target large snook on the Texas coast. Brownsville is also a great place to catch a variety of fish that are not so common else where on the Texas coast. Meals of mangrove snapper and speckled trout are common daily.

Fishing the jetties out of Port Mansfield or South Padre Island. These are the hotspots to get your trophy redfish. Fishing at the jetties, you do not know what you will hook into. But typical catches in the winter months are redfish, speckled trout, black drum, sheephead, pompano, jack crevalle, and possibly tarpon.
